Metal Spinning

More About the Process

Metal Spinning

Metal spinning is a sheet metal forming process used to manufacture rotationally symmetrical hollow components. During the process, a flat metal blank is gradually formed over a tool while rotating.

This technology is particularly suitable for small production runs and prototypes where the cost of dedicated deep drawing tools is not economically justified. It enables the fast and flexible production of complex rotational shapes with relatively low tooling and setup costs.

At Magoform, we use this process to form aluminium sheet with a thickness of up to 2 mm and blanks with diameters of up to 600 mm.
